Aren't we the lucky ones! Ladd McIntosh is one of Hollywood's most in-demand film orchestrators, with over 115 major motion pictures credits to his name. One of Ladd's great loves has always been big band music, and long admiring the big bands of Stan Kenton, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Gerald Wilson, Gerry Mulligan and others, all of these influences flow through his pen. The Ladd McIntosh Swing Orchestra is made up of studio pros with a staggering amount of credits. Ladd has composed or arranged the band's entire library and conducts the band with expertise and enthusiasm resulting in outstanding performances. "The Central Avenue Dance Ensemble" will perform two numbers from their upcoming show, The History of Black Dance in America.
This show chronicles 200 years of popular American Social Dances that were created by African-Americans. February 23, 24, 25, Santa Monica Bay Woman's Club. "
Headed up by Chester Whitmore, the Central Avenue Revue Ensemble is sure to entertain!

RUSTY'S - 14 YEARS
Rusty's Rhythm Club first "opened its doors" in 1998, with a weekly dance at Point 705 hosted by Rusty Frank & Peter Flahiff. (Anyone out there remember those days? Remember "Rusty & Peter, Swingshift"? ) In 2001, we moved the dance over to our current location at the Elks Lodge in Playa Del Rey, and we've been the "Home of Happy Feet" ever since.
We pride ourselves in weekly dances featuring the best of live music and a welcoming and friendly dance community.
Next year it'll be my Quinceanera, and I've been informed I get to wear a tiara!
